Three fundamental concerns are driving the formation of the new citizens organization:

I. The negative impact of special rights initiatives on all businesses and property owners, with a particularly negative impact on faith- based and faith-inspired businesses and property owners.

II. The negative impact of special rights initiatives on every citizen's constitutionally protected rights to freedom of expression, freedom of religion and freedom of assembly.

III. The negative impact of the practice of homosexuality on the individuals who practice it and on the rest of the society.

The main multifaceted emphasis of the group is to defend Traditional Marriage as 'between one man and one woman', to respond to the controversy at the University of Notre Dame regarding homosexual activism at several levels, to respond to 'special rights for homosexuals' ordinances as they come forward in the Region and to facilitate help and ministry for those suffering from the ill effects of the homosexual lifestyle.

Marriage Protection Amendment in Jeopardy

SJR7 Must Pass Again!
The citizens of Indiana deserve the right to vote to protect marriage between one man and one woman! Hoosiers deserve the right to ban courts from granting same sex civil unions! In order for the people of Indiana to vote to amend the Constitution to protect marriage in November, 2008, the House and Senate must once again pass the Marriage Protection Amendment – Senate Joint Resolution 7.

Will Speaker Bauer Kill the Marriage Protection Amendment – Again?
Whenever Representative Pat Bauer is Speaker of the House, the effort to protect marriage between one man and one woman dies in the House of Representatives.

In order for the voters to be able to vote to amend the Constitution to protect marriage, the House and Senate must pass the Marriage Protection Amendment twice.

In 2004 and in 2007 when the House of Representatives had the opportunity to pass the Marriage Protection Amendment so the voters could finally vote on this important matter, Speaker Bauer orchestrated SJR7 never coming to the floor of the House for a vote.

Will History Repeat Itself in 2008?
